PARENTSQUARE: Division and School Communication to Families
Hampton City Schools is using ParentSquare to communicate with families. Through ParentSquare the division and individual schools can send families alerts and information via email, text, phone alerts, and app notifications.
ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent/guardian, using the email address and phone number on file with their child’s school. Parents/guardians do not need to activate a ParentSquare account in order to receive division and school phone calls and email messages. However, parents need to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified, as well as use other features.
This new communication platform allows Hampton City Schools to unify all parent communication from the division, schools, classrooms and school activity groups under one umbrella providing a “one stop shop” for school communication. Parents/guardians are able to keep track of news, activities and events from all their children’s schools in one place. ParentSquare is available for staff and parents to use on their computers or mobile devices.
Hampton City Schools hopes that ParentSquare’s intuitive, two-way platform will facilitate greater communication. School staff and parents can engage in both one-on-one and group messaging with real-time language translation.
How do I activate my account?
If downloading the free mobile app for Android or iOS on your phone, parents/guardians must enter the email or phone number that they have on file with their child’s school. Once entered, ParentSquare will send a verification code to use to finish the account set up.
If using the website (www.parentsquare.com), parents/guardians must click ‘Sign In’, and then under the Sign Up section, enter the email or phone number that they have on file with their child’s school and click Go. ParentSquare will send a link to use to finish the account set up.
If the email or phone number is not recognized by ParentSquare, parents/guardians should call their child’s school office and ask for them to update their contact information. Changes will then be reflected in ParentSquare the following day.
We are excited to offer a communication tool that is multi-functional as we aim to engage our families and inform them of important and upcoming information.
