HCS public relations & marketing team earns top Honors for outstanding communications
The Hampton City Schools (HCS) Public Relations and Marketing Department earned top recognition from the Chesapeake Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association (CHESPRA), receiving one Award of Excellence—the highest honor—and two Honorable Mentions at the annual CHESPRA Fall Conference in Charlottesville, VA.
The CHESPRA Communications Contest celebrates outstanding communications work produced by school districts across Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. Entries are judged by media and public relations professionals for creativity, clarity, and impact.
Hampton City Schools received the following awards:
Award of Excellence: Jamiya’s School Scrapbook: Becoming the Portrait of a Hampton Graduate (Special Publication Category)
Honorable Mention: Hampton City Schools’ Academies of Hampton (Video Production Category)
Honorable Mention: Welcome Back, Hampton City Schools (2024–2025)! (Video Production Category)
“These awards reflect the creativity, collaboration, and dedication of our entire public relations and marketing team,” said Kellie Goral, executive director of public relations and marketing. “From our graphics and print shop teams to PEG TV, every member plays a vital role in sharing the inspiring stories of our students, staff, and schools.
