Hampton High School students explore language and culture at CNU
Students from Hampton High School’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Spanish and Spanish IV classes recently visited the World Language Department at Christopher Newport University (CNU). The field trip offered students a firsthand look at college life while deepening their appreciation for world languages and cultural studies.
During the visit, students met with university faculty, explored CNU’s language labs, and discovered how studying world languages can open doors to global opportunities in education, travel, and careers.
“This experience allowed our students to see how their classroom learning connects to the world beyond high school,” said Travis Riddick, academy principal at Hampton High School. “We are proud to provide opportunities that broaden our students’ horizons and inspire them to pursue their passions.”
Hampton High School continues to provide meaningful, real-world learning experiences that prepare students for success in college, career, and life.
