Academy students’ work debuts in Jack and the Beanstalk Rainbow Puppets performance
Kecoughtan High School students who participated in the Extended Enrichment Learning-Summer Business Institute will see their hard work come to fruition when the set they created, as well as the recorded voice-overs and songs, will be used in an upcoming Rainbow Puppets production.
During a month-long summer institute, students Jonathan Aspin, Rhonda Chrisp, Brionni Gray, Katy Pendleton, Shaylon Spivey, Messiah Taylor, Andrea Ramos, Emma Ryder, Malik Williams, Haley Yacobi, and instructors Shaun Redd, Tracy Bourne, Timothy Hogge, and Sharnya Smith, were challenged to create an adaptive performance and puppetry design for the Rainbow Puppets production of Jack and the Beanstalk.
“The best part of the Summer Business Institute is the opportunity for students to see that their hard work has a lasting impression out in the ‘real’ world,” said Bourne, theatre director of the On Stage Performing Arts Academy.
The show will be held on Saturday, October 23, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Fox Hill United Methodist Church. It is free and open to the public.
