Bethel High School Marching Bruins earn five superior ratings
Congratulations to the Bethel High School MIGHTY Marching Bruins. The band members earned five superior ratings in music, marching, and general effect, at the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association Marching Band Assessment. Their performance resulted in an overall superior rating for the band.
“Since August, the students have been working diligently to learn the art of marching band and perform their award-winning show Viva La Musica,” said Jerry Lancaster, Bethel band director.
“We are proud of the students and Mr. Lancaster. The band always demonstrates music education mastery and excellence at assessments, competitions, parades, and football games,” said Kelly Dee, visual and performing arts curriculum leader.
The Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association (more commonly known as VBODA) is an organization of high school, middle school, and elementary school band and orchestra directors within the Commonwealth of Virginia whose mission is to help promote opportunities of music education to K-12 students.
