School Board member Joe Kilgore is elected president-elect of VSBA
Hampton School Board member Joseph (Joe) Kilgore has been elected as president-elect of the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA).
Kilgore has been a member of the Hampton School Board since 2010 and served as chair during the 2020-2021 school year.
“I was honored to be elected, the president-elect of the Virginia School Boards Association at their annual conference on November 20, 2025,” said Kilgore. “I have had the privilege of serving on the VSBA Board of Directors for two years and I am excited to continue serving the members of the association and all of the students in public education in Virginia in this new role. I want to give a special thank you to the members of the Hampton City School Board and our superintendent, Dr. Haynes, for their encouragement and support as I continue to serve as an advocate for public education.”
In addition to serving on the Board of Directors for the last two years, Kilgore was a member of VSBA committees for two years and was the Hampton City Schools VSBA delegate for at least seven years.
