Bethel High School Army JROTC travels to New York City
The Bethel High School Army JROTC “Bruin Battalion” traveled to New York City (NYC) to proudly march in the annual NYC Veterans Day Parade. The parade committee selected our Bruin Battalion because of the cadets’ outstanding scholarship, exemplary community engagement, and consistent demonstration of high moral character.
Over 75 of our cadets marched alongside more than 33,000 participants in the nation’s oldest and largest Veterans Day parade. Following the event, the Bruin Battalion visited the NYC 9/11
Memorial to pay their respects to the lives lost on that tragic day.
This was a memorable and meaningful experience for every cadet—and for many, it was their
first time traveling outside of the state of Virginia.
Bethel executive principal Dr. Tanya Howard shared, “Our Bruin Battalion continues to represent Bethel High School with excellence, pride, and purpose. Their leadership, character, and dedication exemplify the very best of who we are as Bruins.”
