2024 mayor’s holiday card winners

Each year the mayor’s office of the city of Hampton sponsors a holiday card contest for art students attending the four Hampton high schools. This program began over 19 years ago with Mayor Ross Kearney II and each subsequent mayor has continued it. The mayor selects a theme and the high school students interpret that theme using any two-dimensional media that can be reproduced onto a card. A minimum of one piece from each high school is selected for the cards. The cards are sent to area business leaders and other officials to extend the mayor’s and city council’s holiday wishes. This program is a wonderful way to showcase Hampton art students and their great teachers. This year’s theme is Fort Monroe.

“Please join me in congratulating these talented students on their hard work and impressive achievements. A special shoutout also goes to their dedicated teachers, whose guidance and support have been a big part of helping these students reach this achievement,” said Ai Choo Ashe, teacher specialist with Hampton City Schools visual and performing arts department.
