Lindsay Middle School teacher Wanda Mi-che Lassiter selected for Kenan Fellows Program
Wanda Mi-che Lassiter of Lindsay Middle School has been accepted into the 2026–2027 Kenan Fellows Program, earning a spot through a highly competitive selection process. More than 300 educators expressed interest in the 36 fellowships offered this year, with candidates participating in an extensive interview process alongside many accomplished educators from across the region.
As part of the fellowship experience, participants will attend the first institute at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching in Cullowhee, North Carolina from June 22 to 26.
The Kenan Fellows Program provides educators with opportunities for professional growth and collaboration designed to strengthen classroom instruction and real-world learning connections.
Lindsay Middle School principal Sharif Hicks praised Lassiter for her commitment to continued learning and student success. “We are so proud of Ms. Lassiter’s willingness to continue to grow with new learning and opportunities that she can promote to our scholars,” said Hicks. “She has definitely shown passion for CTE and the work scholars conduct in her classroom.”
