Hampton City Schools 9th Annual Run 4 the Stage 5K raises $12,000 for student scholarships

The Hampton City Schools 9th Annual Run 4 the Stage 5K was held on May 11, 2024, at Sandy Bottom Park. There was a total of 312 participants. The Run for the Stage 5K is held annually to support on-time graduation by providing funding for community college scholarships. 


This year’s race was a huge success raising over $12,000. The event offered ten 2024 HCS graduates with a total of $5,000 in scholarships to assist with their college expenses. The Run 4 the Stage event has raised over $133,700 in the last nine years.

Ashley Hodges – Kecoughtan High

Sha'terra Smith-Bazemore – Adult and Alternative Learning Center (ALC)

Kirsten Reed - Adult and Alternative Learning Center (ALC)

Percentage:  Moton Early Childhood Center, Armstrong School for the Arts, and Cooper Elementary Magnet School for Technology

Number Registered:  Bethel High, Moton Early Childhood Center, HCS Related Services Team, and Bassette Elementary
