Takeera Suber of Jackson Fundamental Elementary School receives recognition from HAEOP

Takeera Suber, office assistant at Mary W. Jackson Fundamental Elementary School, was honored by the Hampton Association of Educational Office Professionals (HAEOP) on May 20, 2024. HAEOP co-president Falon Bone, HAEOP member Stephanie Grantham, principal Ernriekus Williams, and school secretary Alicia Baker surprised Suber at the school.

Suber was nominated by Baker who said, “She always has a smile on her face when she is interacting with staff, students and families, and has a positive and caring attitude. She is always willing to help with any tasks assigned to her that are outside of her daily duties. She is an all-around joy to have in the main office and has been a wonderful addition to the Mary W. Jackson Family!”

The recognition was created by HAEOP in the 2022-2023 school year as a way to recognize employees. Any employee in the school division can nominate any office professional to be recognized and state why this person is deserving of the recognition. Nominations are reviewed each month and the winning recipient is chosen at random. Members of HAEOP then go to the winner’s school or office and surprise them with balloons and an award.
