Eaton girls and Kilgore boys win middle school basketball championships

Congratulations to the Eaton Fundamental Middle School girls basketball team and the Kilgore Gifted Center (KGC) boys basketball team for earning the middle school championship. The girls defeated Jones Magnet Middle School with a score of 36-15 and the boys also defeated Jones with a score of 40-37.

Congratulations to all of the teams that participated in the season and in the championship.

“The entire KGC family is so proud of our Seahawk boys basketball team for winning back-to-back middle school championships,” shared principal Paul Lawrence. “These boys and their families have worked together with coach Derrick Todd to prepare and build an incredible team. We celebrate their success and look forward to next season as we look to 3-peat.”

Eaton principal Greg Hopson said, "I am extremely proud of my girls for winning the middle school championship. Our coach, Kelly Johnson, reminded me after the game that my eighth grade group has gone undefeated for three years. These young ladies have a winning attitude, and I am even more proud of what they accomplish academically on a daily basis.”
