Bethel and Kecoughtan High symphonic bands shine at Disney Imagination Campus Soundtrack Studio session

The talented musicians in the Bethel and Kecoughtan high school symphonic bands embarked on a memorable journey to the Disney Imagination Campus Soundtrack Studio session in Orlando, FL. The students attended this special event, showcasing their rich musical talent.

Under the guidance of band directors Nicholas Conty and Jerald Lancaster, the students were not just musicians but were given a unique opportunity to step into the shoes of professional musicians in a world-class recording studio. The Disney Imagination Campus Soundtrack Studio session offers an immersive environment where students can record music and learn about the intricacies of soundtrack production. For many of the young musicians, this was a dream come true, blending their passion for music with the enchanting atmosphere of Disney. This unique opportunity has enriched their musical knowledge and left them with a sense of privilege and excitement.

“The experience at the Disney Imagination Campus was incredible for our students. It allowed them to see the professional side of music production and gave them a taste of what it takes to create the magic behind movie soundtracks,” said Conty. “I’m immensely proud of how our HCS students performed and embraced this learning opportunity.”

Kelly Dee, the curriculum leader for visual and performing arts in Hampton City Schools, also emphasized the event's educational value and its inspiration to the students. “This trip was not just about performing; it was about learning and growing as artists and citizens. Our students gained invaluable insights into music production careers, which will undoubtedly enrich their future musical endeavors,” he remarked, highlighting the HCS commitment to providing comprehensive and enriching music education for its students.
