Hampton City Schools announces top students in the Class of 2024 at Bethel High School

Daniella Brown - Valedictorian


Daniella is graduating with a cumulative grade point average of 4.47. Her activities include volunteering at Mary Immaculate Hospital and with a non-profit organization called Basketball360. In addition, she works at a restaurant throughout the week and is a part of Project Discovery which allows her to connect with other students and learn more about people from different backgrounds.


Daniella was accepted to an impressive 31 colleges including the University of Southern California, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, Howard University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Hampton University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Winston-Salem State University, Clark Atlanta University, Florida Memorial University, Southern University of New Orleans, Morgan State University, Benedict College, Elizabeth State University, Miles College, Regent University, Virginia State University, Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, Coppin State University, Fisk University, Talladega College, South Carolina State University, North Carolina Central University, Bethune-Cookman University, Fayetteville State University, Tennessee State University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Shaw University, Grambling University, and Harris-Stowe State University. Daniella has decided to attend Virginia Commonwealth University where she will major in biology on a pre-med track. After earning an undergraduate degree she plans to attend medical school to become a surgeon.


Fondest high school memory:

“My fondest memory during Bethel was going to my Dual Enrollment anatomy class as I led most of our dissections and learned more about the human body.”


A tradition at your school you will miss:

“I will miss the events and ceremonies that are held for different academies/students as it always showed our school truly cares about the future of their students.”


An achievement you are most proud of:

“I am proud of becoming a nationally certified clinical medical assistant.”


I am proud to be an HCS graduate because:

“Being a Hampton City Schools graduate has led me to more opportunities for my future than I could have ever imagined.”


If you could thank a teacher who had the greatest impact on you, who would it be and why?

“If I could thank a teacher who had the greatest impact on me it would be Ms. Proctor, she never gave up on me and gave me words of encouragement to finish my high school years.”


Trinity Robinson – Salutatorian


Trinity has a grade point average of 4.46. She served as the sophomore/junior class president, Governors Health Sciences Academy ambassador, National Honor Society co-president, symphonic band tenor sax section leader, marching band section leader, junior/senior marching band drum major, and drumline cymbal section leader.


Trinity was accepted to many colleges including Virginia State University, Freed-Hardeman University, Alabama A&M University, Fayetteville State University, Jackson State University, Elizabeth City State University, Grambling State University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Tennessee State University, North Carolina Central University, Clark Atlanta University, Florida A&M University, Miles College, Livingstone College, Vorhees University, James Madison University, Virginia Wesleyan University, Radford University, Hampton University, Howard University, Spelman College, North Carolina A&T State University, Norfolk State University, and South Carolina State University. She has decided to attend Hampton University and major in biochemistry. After graduation she plans to obtain her master’s degree in the same field and practice as a biomedical scientist working in gene therapy and pathogens affecting DNA.


Fondest high school memory:

“My fondest high school memory is all of my marching band experiences.”


An achievement you are most proud of:

“I am not proud of anything thus far, because there is more to be done and this is just one small milestone compared to the rest of my life.”


I am proud to be an HCS graduate because:

“I’m proud to be an HCS graduate because the academies have given me opportunities to be beyond prepared for my field of study in college.”


If you could thank a teacher who had the greatest impact on you, who would it be and why?

“I would like to thank Ms. Cornell, my GHS academy teacher because she has prepared me for real-life experiences and has mentored me by giving me many hands-on learning experiences as well as internship opportunities. I would also like to thank my English teacher, Ms. Emory, for preparing me with speaking in front of others and also helping me explore myself through writing.”
