Woube Gebre selected to the Hampton Roads Media Sports Hall of Fame
Congratulations to Woube Gebre, video production specialist with PEG TV in Hampton City Schools (HCS), for being chosen as an inductee into the Hampton Roads Media Sports Hall of Fame.
In addition to his position with HCS, Gebre works as an analyst for the Norfolk State University Sports Network and is a committee chair for the Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame.
“Woube truly deserves this recognition,” said Andy Foley, director of television and media services for HCS. “He brings an impressive depth of knowledge about high school sports to our department. His finger is always right on the pulse of high school athletics.”
Recipients will be honored at a ceremony on May 3 at Langley Speedway.
The Hampton Roads Sports Hall of Fame was conceived as a way to honor outstanding athletes, coaches, administrators and media members who came from Hampton Roads or who made noteworthy contributions to sports in the area. Plaques can be viewed free of charge in the Harbor Park lobby during normal business hours.
