Savannah Garris, eighth grader at Tarrant Middle School, gives opening at the January 8 School Board meeting

Savannah Garris, an eighth grader at Tarrant Middle School, was selected to lead the Pledge of Allegiance and give the opening at the January 8, 2025, School Board meeting. She read a poem entitled The Music of Life by Martin Dejnicki.

 

Savannah’s favorite subject is math and she enjoys playing the tuba and drawing.

Her parents, her principal Carla Montgomery, her assistant principal Aisha Rucker, and her band teacher Alyssa Glover joined her at the meeting.
