Chamarie Clements, eighth grader at Jones Magnet Middle School, gives opening at the January 10 School Board meeting

Chamarie Clements, an eighth grader from Jones Magnet Middle School, was selected to lead the Pledge of Allegiance and give the opening at the January 10, 2024, School Board meeting. She read a poem entitled Education Is The Key that was written by her and her grandmother, Priscilla Reamon.

Chamarie enjoys dancing, singing, and running track. She has two siblings, Marcus “Mac” and Cheyenne, who both attend Barron Fundamental Elementary School.

Chamarie’s parents, siblings, grandmothers, and the Barron Village family joined her at the meeting as well as her Jones principal Sharon Slater.
