Mary W. Jackson Elementary School Girls Club helps others
The Mary W. Jackson Elementary School Girls Club, under the direction of LaToya Wilson, special education teacher, and Marilyn Green, counselor, gave their time to prepare 100 ‘Snowman Soup’ treat bags for children. The bags will be distributed by a non-profit organization called Codeswitch Ministries families during a toy distribution on December 20.
The Girls Club meets monthly and includes lessons and activities centered around identity, self-care, goal-setting, etiquette, and community service.
Codeswitch Ministries was founded by Wilson and supports single parents on the Greater Peninsula. Codeswitch, along with Richardson Realty is working together to sponsor single-parent families with toys this holiday season.
