Aberdeen Elementary students receive backpacks from WeLoveU Foundation

Representatives of the Newport News chapter of the WeLoveU Foundation, along with Delegate A. C. Cordoza, Mayor Donnie Tuck, Superintendent Dr. Raymond Haynes, School Board members Vice Chair Dr. Tina Banks-Gray, Stephanie Afonja, Ann Cherry, Dr. Reginald Woodhouse, and Hampton City Schools administrators gathered at Aberdeen Elementary School on August 22, 2024, to distribute backpacks and school supplies to Aberdeen Elementary School students.

The aim of the WeLoveU Foundation initiative is to provide essential school supplies to underprivileged children to ensure they have the tools they need to succeed academically.

“WeLoveU Foundation's ‘Packs on Backs’ was an amazing program for our families because it provided students with essential tools they need for success,” said Aberdeen principal Jasmin Royal. “The donations not only set them up for academic achievement but also boosted their excitement and confidence. It's clear that this program made a positive impact, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere for students as they begin their journey into a new school year.”
