Hampton High School students inspire future Crabbers at Bassette Elementary Career Fair
On April 23, 2026, students from Hampton High School made a meaningful impact at the Bassette Elementary School Career Fair, where they represented their academies with pride, professionalism, and enthusiasm. Hosting two engaging tables, the Crabbers connected with elementary students by sharing their academic journeys, hands-on experiences, and insights into high school life.
The initiative was led by Mia Moore, school counselor at Hampton High School, who responded to the call for participation by organizing and preparing a dynamic group of student representatives.
Representing the diverse opportunities available at Hampton High School, Kennedy Troy and Markeisha Buggs highlighted the Hampton High School Health, Human, and Financial Services (HHFS) Academy while speaking about their leadership roles as lead ambassadors. Aiden Moore showcased the Academy of Technology and Engineering (ATE) by providing an interactive audio engineering experience that blended music with technology. Sulejman Fejzulla and Alex Cruz brought the Maritime Academy to life through a construction technology demonstration. Angela Chen, valedictorian, represented the International Baccalaureate (IB) program alongside foreign exchange student Anastasia Ivanenciuc, engaging students in conversations about academic excellence and global learning.
The event, organized by Bassette Elementary School, was well-attended and thoughtfully coordinated. Hampton High School extends its sincere appreciation to Stephanie Lewis, school counselor, for the invitation and looks forward to participating again next year.
Notably, Hampton High School students expressed a strong interest in expanding their impact by supporting future elementary career fairs across the district, demonstrating their commitment to mentorship, leadership, and inspiring the next generation of learners.
