Corporate sponsors donate over $100,000 to HCS athletics over the past 13 years
Beth Mair, Hampton City Schools coordinator of athletics and drivers education, and the high school athletic directors have hit the pavement for the last 13 years, drumming up support for student athletes and HCS athletic programs through corporate sponsors. Because of their dedication to the students and the generous support from the community, the corporate sponsors have donated approximately $100,000 over those past 13 years.
Through this generosity, the HCS athletic department has been able to purchase equipment needed at the four high schools to support the division’s teams. Some of the items purchased include:
Lawnmowers
Office furniture and supplies for athletic directors
Football goal posts
Outdoor and indoor scoreboards
Ice machines
Wrestling mats
Basketball backboards
Some of the corporate sponsors not only give to the athletic department each year but also have donated to the individual high schools to support specific sports teams. A great example are corporate sponsors, Lemmata Chiropractic and Chick Fil A - Coliseum who donated to the Phoebus High School football team so those players were able to purchase state championship rings.
The division’s corporate sponsors are as follows:
Ms. Riley Fontaine - Sentara/Sport Rx
Mr. John McCloud - Kona Ice
Mr. Kevin Morris - Sparetimes Bowling Alley
Mr. Brooks Heinstein - Sport Hampton
Mrs. Amy Schendel - CHKD
Mr. Andy Lucas - Lucas Brothers Insurance
Dr. David Martinez - Lemmata Chiropractic
Mr. Red Witten - Chick Fil A Coliseum
Mr. Adam Martin - Coca Cola
Mr. Tony Meade – Vancosta’s Resturant
Several of the corporate sponsors were in attendance at the March 2, 2022, School Board meeting and were recognized for their partnership and sponsorship with Hampton City Schools.
Hampton City Schools appreciates its community partners and their contributions in supporting the students and the division.
