Eaton Fundamental Middle School receives a shoutout on national NJHS website

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) of Eaton Fundamental Middle School recently held a food drive, as many schools do during the holidays. As a result of their hard work, they received a shout on the NJHS website.

To maximize participation, the chapter (NJHS) made the drive a competition among the grade level teams. The teams consisted of three sixth grade teams, four seventh grade teams, and three eighth grade teams. With the help of one of the eighth grade art classes, the chapter made posters and posted them around the school.

The winner of the contest was the eighth grade team. They won a pajama movie day in the auditorium complete with popcorn that was donated by Cinema Café in Hampton.

In total, Eaton donated over 800 pounds of goods and received a shoutout on the NJHS website and the106.9 radio station during the Peninsula Food Bank Annual Mayflower Marathon.

“As the advisor, I thought our students did such an amazing job,” said school counselor Jasmine Cobb. “I felt their hard work should have some recognition so I submitted the canned food drive to the National Student Project Database on the NJHS website. The project was approved and published!”
