Bethel band performs for the Virginia Board of Education

The award-winning Bethel High School “Bruin” Band-Stick and Groove Drum Line performed at the Virginia Board of Education meeting in Richmond, VA on September 24. The outstanding students spent hours practicing, in addition to their regular marching band rehearsals, to perform as a unique ensemble and showcase their talent. Afterward, the students met with board members and discussed their performance and other academics.

“Their musical talent was clearly evident, with a well-rehearsed, engaging, and exciting performance! Beyond their skills, the students also demonstrated exceptional character, exhibiting respect towards everyone present. This combination of performance skill and commendable conduct reflects the dedication of both the students and their directors,” said Sherry Hatton, Virginia Department of Education fine arts specialist.
