Jones and Kilgore capture middle school soccer championships

Congratulations to the Jones Magnet Middle School boys soccer team and the Kilgore Gifted Center (KGC) girls soccer team for capturing the HCS middle school soccer championships on October 27, 2025.

 

The Jones boys team, led by Coach Cary Smith, completed a perfect 7-0 season, finishing strong with a 7-1 victory over Kilgore in the championship match. The Kilgore girls team, under the leadership of Coach Penny Miles, also finished undefeated with a 7-0-1 record, securing the championship title with an impressive 5-1 win over Andrews PreK-8 School.

 

Jones principal Dr. Heidi Brezinski said, “The Jones Magnet Middle School family is celebrating our boys soccer team for their incredible championship win! Their passion, teamwork, and determination have made our school community so proud. Go Jaguars!”

“We are so proud of our girls for bringing home KGC's first soccer championship,” said Kilgore principal Paul Lawrence. “Thank you to our amazing coaches and supportive parents for a tremendous season. Go Seahawks!”

Both teams demonstrated outstanding skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the season. Congratulations to all players, coaches, and families on a successful year of middle school soccer.
