Bethel High Chick-fil-A Leader Academy inspires young readers through Million Book Giveaway

Ten members of Bethel High School’s Chick-fil-A Leader Academy recently took part in the Million Book Giveaway, a national initiative that promotes literacy and fosters community connection among young learners.

As part of this meaningful service project, students visited three local elementary schools, where they delivered books, read aloud to kindergarten classes, and led interactive learning stations centered on teamwork, creativity, and the joy of reading.

The experience gave students a chance to put their leadership lessons into action—building relationships with younger learners, modeling kindness and patience, and discovering the lasting impact of service. The elementary students were delighted to engage with their high school role models and excited to take home brand-new books.

“We are proud of our Chick-fil-A Leader Academy members for representing our school so well and for helping to spread the love of reading throughout our community—one book, one child, and one act of kindness at a time,” said TrAIL Academy team lead Heather Woodruff.
