33rd Annual Warrior Classic Marching Band Competition Draws Over 1,500 to Hampton


The 33rd Annual Warrior Classic Marching Band Competition, hosted by the Kecoughtan High School Warrior Band Boosters and students, took place at Darling Stadium in Hampton, Virginia, bringing together 13 high school bands from across the state for a day filled with exceptional music performance. Over 1,500 students, parents, and supporters attended the event.

 

The competition saw bands competing in five different classes for top honors. Awards were presented for 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place in each class, along with special accolades for Best Music, Best Visual, Best General Effect, Best Color Guard, Best Percussion, and Best Drum Major.

 

In the highly contested Class 2A category, Hampton High School secured 3rd place, while Bethel High School took home 1st place. 

 

“The Warrior Classic continues to be a major highlight for marching bands in Virginia, showcasing the dedication, artistry, and talent of students and their schools while drawing strong support from the local community,” said Kelly Dee, Hampton City Schools curriculum leader for performing and visual arts.
