HCS preschool fall festival combines hands-on learning and seasonal fun

On Thursday, October 29, 2026, Hampton City Schools preschool students from across the division celebrated at the first division wide fall festival. Students enjoyed participating in engaging educational games designed and led by aspiring teachers from Kecoughtan High School’s (KHS) Academy of Teaching and Learning. Using the preschool curriculum and learning standards as their guide, the KHS students created fun, interactive activities for PreK students and their families. Judging by the excitement and enthusiasm, the future educators may have had just as much fun as the preschoolers.

In addition, the KHS JROTC and Key Club students supported the event by helping with traffic control and face painting.

Community partners, bus drivers, teachers, and many more came out to provide trunk or treat and candy for the students. They loved going through the line, looking at the trunks, and of course, collecting candy.
