Bethel High School Academy of Law and Public Safety hosts first responders appreciation event

The Bethel High School (BHS) Academy of Law and Public Safety (ALPS) proudly hosted a First Responders Appreciation Event to recognize the dedication and service of those who work tirelessly to protect our community.

Firefighters, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), police officers, and sheriff’s deputies were welcomed to Bethel High School, where ALPS students and BHS staff distributed more than 150 appreciation bags filled with snacks and drinks.

The outreach also extended to the Hampton Sheriff’s Office, Hampton Police Communications Center, and police cadets at the Hampton Police Training Center, recognizing those who serve our community in a variety of public safety roles.

The event provided students with a meaningful opportunity to demonstrate gratitude, civic responsibility, and community engagement while making connections to the public service careers represented within their academy.

“Our academies connect classroom learning to the people, professions, and needs of our community. This event gave our ALPS students an opportunity not only to learn about public service, but to demonstrate service themselves. I am proud of our students for honoring those who serve the Hampton community each day,” said Dr. Tanya V. Howard, BHS executive principal.

Bethel High School extends its heartfelt gratitude to all of our first responders. Thank you for answering the call, serving with courage, and keeping our community safe!
