Raylen Alada, fifth grader at Andrews PreK-8 School, gives opening at the November 5 School Board meeting

 

Raylen Alada, a fifth grader at Andrews PreK-8 School, was selected to deliver the opening remarks at the School Board meeting held on November 5, 2025. She read a poem, Life, written by Paul Lawrence Dunbar.

Raylen’s favorite subjects are math and science and she loves tumbling, crafting, and journaling.

Raylen was accompanied at the meeting by her mother and father, younger brother and sister, and Andrews administrative team, Principal Chanda Mason and assistant principals Ms. Kane, Ms. Erickson, and Mr. McDowell.
