BHS band alumni perform at international conference

Alumni members of the Bethel High School (BHS) band performed and competed at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in Indianapolis, IN. These individuals performed in the PASIC College Individual and Ensemble (I&E) categories. It was the 50th year of the convention. 

“We are proud of these young men. They are great examples of where music can take you,”  said Jerry Lancaster, Bethel High School band director. 

Theo Dennis, BHS class of 2024, performed on tenors. Dennis attends Virginia State University. He performed his original composition, Textures, representing the Virginia State Percussion Ensemble. This was his second year competing and his second time earning second place. A video of Dennis’ performance can be found here. He has also marched with the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps in La Crosse, WI. 

Cayden Cooper, BHS class of 2023, performed on snare drum. Cooper attends Norfolk State University. He performed his original composition, Fourth Wall. A video of his performance can be found here. He has also marched with the Spartans Drum and Bugle Corps in Nashua, New Hampshire.
