Third Annual Hampton Education Foundation (HEF) H.E.F. Fest is a success
The 3rd Annual Hampton Education Foundation (HEF) celebration, H.E.F. Fest, was a resounding success! Held on November 2, 2024, the event brought together more than 300 community members in a night filled with support and songs, raising close to $70,000 for the Foundation.
HEF continues to be a driving force supporting Hampton City Schools, raising vital funds that fuel innovation, creativity, and expanded student opportunities. The funds raised at this year's H.E.F. Fest will support two key areas:
Thanks to the generosity of the community, 68 educators received grants totaling $40,000 for their initiatives in the 2024-25 school year.
The event featured a lively musical performance by the H.E.F. Fest Band, with special performances by Mayor Donnie Tuck, Vice-Mayor Jimmy Gray (also a Foundation Board Member and Mayor-elect), and School Board Vice-Chair Tina Banks-Gray. The band also included several HCS alumni and parents, making for a memorable night of local talent and community spirit.
This annual event serves as a vital reminder of the power of community support in ensuring that Hampton City Schools continues to thrive. With the funds raised, HEF will be able to further its mission of empowering educators and expanding opportunities for students across the district.
