Hampton City Schools hosts Regional College Fair with over 95 colleges represented

Hampton City Schools (HCS) successfully hosted its annual Regional College Fair, drawing representatives from more than 95 colleges and universities across the country. The event, held on October 30, 2024, at the Hampton Roads Convention Center, provided students and their families with an invaluable opportunity to explore higher education options and connect directly with admissions officers.

Colleges from a wide range of states participated, showcasing programs in everything from liberal arts to STEM fields. Students were able to ask questions about admissions requirements, scholarships, campus life, and specific academic programs. The event aimed to give students insight into the college selection process, helping them make informed decisions about their future.

“We're proud to offer students this opportunity to engage with a diverse array of institutions, giving them access to information that will help shape their academic careers,” said Carla Mahn, HCS director of student development and counseling. “It's an important step in helping them explore what comes next after high school.”

Many students expressed excitement about finding schools that aligned with their interests, and parents appreciated the face-to-face interaction with college representatives. With so many options available under one roof, the Regional College Fair continues to be a valuable resource for not only the Hampton City Schools community, but for communities across the region.
