Hampton City Schools 11th Annual Run for the Stage 5K raises over $18,000 for student scholarships
Hampton City Schools hosted its 11th Annual Run for the Stage 5K on May 19, 2026, at Sandy Bottom Nature Park, with 454 participants registered. This annual event helps support on-time graduation by raising funds for community college scholarships.
Thanks to the amazing support of our community, over $18,000 was raised - providing $8,000 in scholarships to eight deserving 2026 HCS graduates. Over the past 11 years, this event has made a lasting impact, raising more than $166,000 to help our students cross the graduation stage and step confidently into their futures.
The following students were awarded scholarships:

Jamarie Batten II – Bethel High School
Jason Holmes – Bethel High School
Khalil Jessiah Harper – Bethel High School
Isaiah Spear-Aceves – Bethel High School
Kaela Marie Jordan – Bethel High School
Kamerson Mann – Bethel High School
Dylan Jones – Adult & Alternative Learning Center (ALC)
Largest Team Awards:
Percentage: Moton Early Childhood Center, Kraft Elementary, Cooper Elementary Magnet School for Technology, and Smith Elementary
Largest teams overall: Bethel High, Kecoughtan Warriors, Team TE
