Excel Art Program holds annual art show

The Excel Gifted Art Program held its annual student art show on May 6, 2025. This specialized program is designed to nurture and develop the artistic talents of students in grades three through eight. It offers advanced, focused instruction in the principles, theory, and practice of visual arts. Each week, students receive additional instructional time with a Hampton City Schools art teacher and engage in a variety of artistic mediums, including sculpture, painting, watercolor, and mixed media. Admission to the program is based on an adjudicated portfolio review, demonstrating exceptional potential in artistic skill and creativity, high achievement in art, and recommendations from art teachers.
