Young authors from Jones Magnet Middle School share their stories with Bryan Elementary students

Students in the seventh grade Spanish 1 class at Jones Magnet Middle School, taught by Christina Pearson, visited the kindergarten classes at Bryan Elementary School. They shared Spanish children’s books that they had written and illustrated themselves. After reading their stories aloud, the seventh graders teamed up with the kindergarteners to help them write their own simple books.

The special visit supported the seventh grade signature experience focus on “self and community partnership” and gave the kindergarteners a fun and creative start to their own signature experience of “introduction of self.”

“It was a joyful, hands-on way to celebrate language learning, creativity, and connection across grade levels,” said Pearson.
