Bryant & Stratton College donates Esports equipment to HCS

Hampton City Schools (HCS) is excited to team up with Bryant & Stratton College in a new partnership centering around our Esports programs. The partnership kicked off with a donation from the college to our high schools. Thank you to Matt Perry, HCS assistant IT director; Richard Fortune, HCS athletic director; and Erik M. Blackwell, athletic director of Bryant Stratton for helping get the partnership off the ground.

Representatives from Bryant & Stratton College — Eric Harrell, Erik Blackwell, and Kyle Dodd — joined Matt Perry, Kecoughtan High School Esports sponsor Timothy Hogge, student team members, and KHS executive principal Dr. Dwayne Lucas on May 28, 2025, to officially present a generous donation of gaming equipment. The donation included four video game consoles (two Sony PS5s and two Nintendo Switches) and 19 gaming chairs. The equipment will be shared among Hampton's high schools to support their Esports teams launching this fall.

“As we continue to expand Esports in Hampton City Schools, I am excited to see what opportunities we can explore together and how we can best serve the students, staff, and community with regards to this exciting and growing field,” said Perry.
