Bethel High School Sheriff B.J. Roberts Simulation Lab is selected for inclusion in the 2025 VSBA Showcases for Success Special Edition Newsletter
Hampton City Schools is pleased to announce that the Bethel High School Sheriff B.J. Roberts Simulation Lab has been selected to be included in the 2025 Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) Showcases for Success Special Edition Newsletter. Hampton is one of 12 programs selected from 35 school divisions and 73 entries.
Gina Patterson, VSBA executive director said, “Your program represents the innovation, dedication, and student-centered excellence that define the very best of Virginia’s public schools. Through your unwavering commitment and hard work, you are not only creating meaningful opportunities for your students—you are also championing the importance and impact of public education in our Commonwealth.”
The notification from VSBA said, the Special Edition Newsletter serves as a platform to highlight programs that inspire, inform, and elevate public education across Virginia. We are proud to feature the Bethel High School Sheriff B.J. Roberts Simulation Lab as a shining example of what’s possible when school divisions lead with purpose and passion.
The Sheriff B. J. Roberts Simulation Lab is a state-of-the-art facility designed to elevate hands-on learning for students in the Academy of Law and Public Safety and the Governor’s Health Sciences Academy. This advanced lab features an emergency management center, ambulance simulation, and 911 dispatch training—offering students an immersive, real-world environment to explore careers in public safety and healthcare.
By engaging in realistic, scenario-based exercises, students strengthen essential skills such as critical thinking, communication, and rapid decision-making. This innovative space effectively connects classroom learning to practical application, preparing students for success in high-demand, high-impact fields.
