Syms students represent school at FBLA Regional Leadership Conference
Seventh grader Osato Omorodion-Osagie and eighth grader Yancoris “David” Hiciano proudly represented Syms Middle School at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Regional Leadership Conference on Saturday, February 22, 2026, at Southampton High School in Courtland, Virginia.
The students participated in engaging workshops designed to strengthen critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and collaboration skills. Their participation highlighted both their commitment to leadership development and the growing impact of FBLA at the middle school level.
Syms is the only middle school within Hampton City Schools with an active FBLA chapter and competes in the Colonial Region, which includes 12 districts.
“I am so proud of them,” said Arnetta Hughes, Syms business teacher and FBLA advisor.
The conference provided valuable leadership experiences and an opportunity for students to connect with peers from across the region while representing their school with excellence.
