Kilgore Gifted Center girls and Jones Magnet Middle School boys volleyball teams win middle school championship for third consecutive year
Congratulations to both Kilgore Gifted Center (KGC) girls and the Jones Magnet Middle School boys who clinched their respective volleyball championship for the third consecutive year among the Hampton middle schools.
The girls defeated Syms Middle School 25-15 and 25-16. They are coached by Paula Larson and Amy Gonzalez.
The boys defeated Kilgore Gifted Center 25-15 (Jones), 25-23 (Kilgore), and 15-10 (Jones). The team is coached by George Jacobs.
“On behalf of Jones Magnet Middle School, I could not be more proud of our boys volleyball team for capturing the Middle School Boys Volleyball Championship and completing the season undefeated,” said Jones principal Dr. Heidi Brezinski. “This extraordinary accomplishment reflects the hard work, discipline, and determination of our student-athletes, along with the outstanding leadership and dedication of Coach Jacobs. Together, they have demonstrated what true teamwork, perseverance, and commitment to excellence look like.”
Kilgore principal Paul Lawrence said, “Everyone at KGC is so proud of this group. They have played with passion and sportsmanship this year. Special thanks should go out to our parents and our coaches, Paula Larson and Amy Gonzalez.”
The middle school athletics program gives students who are eligible to participate in high school sports an opportunity to be a part of an athletics team.
