Hampton High School chorus members celebrate with the Hampton Mercury Lions Club
Members of Hampton High School's Nova Voices had the honor of singing for the Hampton Mercury Lions Club to celebrate the organization's 57th birthday.
“We extend our sincere thanks to Hampton Mercury Lions Club for inviting our students to share their music. Opportunities like this allow our students to represent Hampton High School and connect with the community through the power of music," said Felipe Gonzalez, Hampton High School chorus director.
Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world. The Hampton-Mercury Lions Club was chartered on March 16, 1965. The Club was named after Project Mercury, the United States' first human spaceflight program.
“We are proud of these students and their director as they demonstrate their citizenship by giving back to the Hampton community. All year long, and particularly during Music in Our Schools Month, it is a good time to connect to our community through music," said Kelly Dee, visual and performing arts curriculum leader.
