Amelia Black, fourth grader at Armstrong School for the Arts, gives opening at March 11 School Board meeting

Amelia Black, a fourth grader at Armstrong School for the Arts, was selected to lead the Pledge of Allegiance and give the opening at the March 11, 2026, School Board meeting. She shared a selection called Dare to Dream, written by Wendy Silva.

 

Amelia likes drawing and skiing. Her favorite subject at school is reading and she enjoys lunch.

Her parents, brother, grandparents, Armstrong principal Dr. Tiffany Geddie-Suggs, assistant principal Martha Grondin, and her former teacher Tina Becouvarakis joined her at the meeting.
