Devan Anthony, senior at Hampton High School, gives opening at the March 12 School Board meeting

 

Devan Anthony, a senior at Hampton High School, was selected to give the opening at the March 12, 2025, School Board meeting. He read a poem entitled Don’t Quit, by Edgar Albert Guest. 

Devan enjoys working out, fishing, trying new things, and volunteering at the boys and girls club. His favorite subjects are math, reading, and history. He plans to join the military after graduation and eventually attend law school.

Devan’s mother, Hampton High executive principal Haneef Majied, academy principals Damien Collins, Jerrelle Griffin, Alexandra Snyder, and academy coach Tina Kerby joined him at the meeting.
