Bethel High School AJROTC hosts Inspiring Leadership Conference

Bethel High School Army JROTC hosted its annual Leadership Conference on February 15, bringing together over 200 cadets from across the Hampton City Schools (HCS) district, including students from Phoebus and Hampton high schools.

This year’s conference focused on the importance of integrity in leadership and everyday life, equipping students with valuable skills to lead with purpose and honesty. The event featured powerful keynote speakers, including executive principal Dr. Tanya Howard, Mayor Jimmy Gray, and military officials from Fort Knox and Fort Eustis. Breakout sessions, led by model students and military recruiters, provided cadets with tailored discussions on leadership, mental health, and core values such as responsibility and respect.

“At Bethel High School, we are committed to shaping the leaders of tomorrow. The Leadership Conference serves as a powerful reminder that integrity, responsibility, and respect are the foundation of great leadership,” said Howard. “I am incredibly proud of our JROTC cadets for their dedication in planning and executing this event, and I am excited to see how these young leaders will continue to inspire and impact their communities.”

This impactful conference, now in its third year, continues to grow as an essential experience for developing future leaders. Bethel JROTC cadets played a key role in planning and executing the event, ensuring a meaningful and engaging experience for all participants. By fostering leadership skills and emphasizing the importance of integrity, the conference empowers students to become better citizens. The students and staff at Bethel look forward to making next year’s event even better!
