Hampton High School and Cooper Elementary Magnet School for Technology PTA units earn Virginia PTA Voice for Children Award
The Hampton High School PTSA and the Cooper Elementary Magnet School for Technology PTA have been recognized with the Virginia PTA Voice for Children Award, one of the organization's highest honors for local PTA units that have made a significant impact on the education, health, and well-being of children and school communities.
The award recognizes the dedication, advocacy, and service demonstrated by both organizations in supporting students, families, and staff through meaningful programs, partnerships, and community engagement.
At Hampton High School, the PTSA strengthened connections between home and school through collaborations with the Freshman Academy and community organizations. Among its many contributions, the PTSA sponsored and supported 55 students' attendance at the Hampton University Step Show, providing exposure to collegiate culture, leadership, and school pride. PTSA members also played a vital role in the success of the Cuts and Conversations Community Day, volunteering their time to register students, assist families, and help ensure the event ran smoothly.
At Cooper Elementary, the PTA's efforts focused on fostering a strong school community through volunteerism, advocacy, and family engagement. PTA leaders credited the recognition to the dedication, passion, and teamwork of members, families, staff, and supporters who continually work to advocate for every child and support the school's mission.
The Voice for Children Award highlights the important role PTA organizations play in creating opportunities for students, strengthening school communities, and building meaningful partnerships between families and educators.
Hampton City Schools congratulates the Hampton High School PTSA and the Cooper Elementary Magnet School for Technology PTA on this well-deserved recognition and thanks them for their continued commitment to supporting students and families.
