Fondest high school memory:
“My fondest high school memory is my senior Model UN Conference with all my friends.”
A tradition at school you will miss:
“I will miss dressing up for themed football games.”
An achievement you are most proud of:
“I am most proud of being valedictorian.”
I am proud to be an HCS graduate because:
“I love participating in activities at my school and being a part of the Kecoughtan community.”
If you could thank a teacher who had the greatest impact on you, who would it be and why?
“I would say the teacher who had the greatest impact on me was Mrs. Brewer. I have had her for two years and always look forward to her class.”
Willard Davenport – Salutatorian
Willard has a grade point average of 5.9. He participates in show choir, theatre, student council, Rho Kappa Honor Society, and National Honor Society.
Willard was accepted to Old Dominion University, University of Virginia, Randolph-Macon College, Christopher Newport University, and Virginia Commonwealth University. He plans to attend Old Dominion University and major in mechanical engineering. After graduation he wants to obtain his master’s degree in aerospace engineering and work on sustainable aerospace technologies that don’t negatively affect the environment.
Fondest high school memory:
“My fondest high school memory would have to be making finals with my show choir, Harbor Lights, at the Titan Tournament of Choirs this year. It was really exciting as Harbor Lights has not made finals at any competition in many years. I was really proud of everyone in our group, and I am so grateful to share that moment with all of my talented friends.”
A tradition at your school you will miss:
“I will miss the spirit weeks and the pep rallies that we have every year.”
An achievement you are most proud of:
“I am really proud of making Senior Honors Choir this year as no one from Kecoughtan High School has made it before. I am also proud of being dance captain of my show choir because it is something that I never thought I would be able to do.”
I am proud to be an HCS graduate because:
“I am proud to be an HCS graduate because of the many opportunities that HCS has provided me that have helped me grow academically and in other areas of my life. HCS has provided me with the tools I need to be successful after high school.”
If you could thank a teacher who had the greatest impact on you, who would it be and why?
“I would thank Mrs. Bourne for giving me a community and a second family that helped me step out of my comfort zone and learn how to express myself. Joining theatre has shaped who I am today and I am really happy that I joined. I would also like to thank Mrs. Huber and Mrs. Capriotti for rejuvenating the choir program at Kecoughtan. Singing is what I love most, and being in show choir increased that love. I hope that feeling will be shared with others who pass through the choir room.”
