Phoebus High School honors state champion football team with ring ceremony
On Saturday, June 7, 2025, Phoebus High School celebrated its state champion football team with a festive indoor parade and ceremony. Originally scheduled as an outdoor event, the celebration was moved indoors due to the threat of rain but still drew enthusiastic support from the community, including participation from numerous local youth organizations.
The event featured special presentations by Congressman Bobby Scott and Delegate Jeion Ward, who awarded the team commendatory resolutions from both the U.S. House of Representatives and the Virginia House of Delegates in recognition of their exceptional season.
Several dignitaries were also in attendance, including Superintendent Dr. Raymond Haynes, members of the Division Leadership Team, Hampton City School Board members, and representatives from the Hampton City Council, all showing their pride and support for the team’s accomplishment.
The ceremony concluded with each player and coach receiving their official state championship ring—capping off a season of hard work, teamwork, and community pride.
