Kecoughtan High School junior David Anderson won his second state championship of the 2021-2022 school year in the VHSL Class 5 outdoor shot put championship at Todd Stadium on June 3 and 4, 2022. He had a winning throw of 57 feet. His winning throw from March of this year was 53 feet, 6.5 inches. He is currently ranked first in the Commonwealth of Virginia across all classifications and grade levels.

David currently maintains a GPA over 3.9 and also plays on the KHS football team. He is considering scholarship offers from several Division I football programs.

“David's work ethic is unmatched, and he is a leader and a role model for our younger student-athletes,” said Lucas Brown, athletic director at KHS. “We are extremely proud of him and look forward to his senior year and beyond!”
