January 2026 exam schedule announced

Hampton City Schools has announced that high schools will administer exams January 20 through 23, 2026. Two exams are held each day according to the schedule below. School buses are available to transport students and a grab-and-go lunch/snack will be provided.

Tuesday, January 20

First Two Blocks on Dark Day

First Exam – 8:20-10:20 a.m.

Second Exam- 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Dismissal 12:30 p.m.

 

Wednesday, January 21

First Two Blocks on Light Day

First Exam – 8:20-10:20 a.m.

Second Exam- 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Dismissal 12:30 p.m.

 

Thursday, January 22 

Second Two Blocks on Dark Day

First Exam – 8:20-10:20 a.m.

Second Exam- 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Dismissal 12:30 p.m.

 

Friday, January 23

Second Two Blocks on Light Day

First Exam – 8:20-10:20 a.m.

Second Exam – 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Dismissal 12:30 p.m.

New Horizons Regional Education Center Exams:

NHREC is open for students through January 23, 2026, and students are expected to attend when they do not have a HCS exam or early release.  

Exam schedule for Academy Students Who Ride the Shuttles:

Academy students who ride the shuttle buses will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. in order to be transported to their zoned school. Activity buses will be at each high school at 1:00 p.m. to transport the students home.  

January 20 through 23, 2026, is a normal full instructional day for elementary and middle school students.

All students (PreK-12) do not report on Monday, January 26 or Tuesday, January 27. Schools are closed to students for a teacher workday and a professional development day.
