Bethel Students Shine at Regional Math Competition
On Saturday, February 14, a group of talented Bethel High School students competed in a math competition at Christopher Newport University, joining more than 200 students from schools across the region.
Representing Bethel High School were:
Dhruhi Patel, Sienna Good, Marc Nguyen, Anthony Vuong, Madison Geimer, Maria Bebawy, Joseph Bebawy, Anne Khau, Shayla Scott, Andre Snider, Gabrielle Hill, Xavier Goodwin, Shawn Battle, Tristan Pearson, Karina Stevens, Catherine Sardinha, Lillian Weymouth, Kennedy Goolsby, Jordyn Whitfield, and Michelle Chidiebere.
The competition included both an individual round and a team round, challenging students to demonstrate advanced mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and collaborative thinking.
In the individual round, Dhruhi Patel earned the title of Highest Scorer at Bethel High School and placed third overall in the entire competition — an outstanding achievement among more than 200 competitors.
“Competitions like this reflect the level of rigor, perseverance, and academic excellence our students bring to every challenge,” said Dr. Tanya Howard, executive principal of Bethel High. “We are incredibly proud of their dedication and the way they represented Bethel High School with both confidence and integrity.”
