Amari Abbs, fourth grader at Cooper Elementary Magnet School, gives opening at February 4 School Board meeting

Amari Abbs, a fourth grader at Cooper Elementary Magnet School for Technology, was selected to lead the Pledge of Allegiance and give the opening at the February 4, 2026, School Board meeting. He shared a selection called The Planted Seed, written by his mother Malindia Abbs.

 

Amari likes to draw and plays football and basketball. His favorite subjects are math, science, and social studies.

His parents, his grandmother, and the Cooper principal Mallary Reynolds joined him at the meeting.
